As I prepare to teach a class on screencast production for my MOBI colleagues, I thought I would share some tips for anyone who is starting out in this craft. I hope you find something helpful here:
- Practice, practice, practice! Considering there’s no time for editing in basic screencast production, being well rehearsed in the process you are recording goes a long way. The more you practice, the more professional an image you project in your screencast. Of course, if you are already an expert in the subject matter you are recording, practice time is greatly reduced. If you’re a subject matter expert, practicing is necessary only for technical purposes.
- Speak clearly and slowly. People who do not speak in front of crowds regularly, tend to speak more rapidly out of nervousness. You can counter this natural tendency during your practicing, by making a conscious effort to articulate clearly. Equally important, avoid jerky…
